The Japanese Maple in our garden is shedding beautiful leaves - creating a colourful blanket on our patio.
I had to do something with these - such a shame to allow them to decay.
A tea light holder ... using the trusty jar
Once dry, I simply wrapped and tied some raffia around the neck of the jar
I've been wanting to use this raffia for sometime and the gold and bronze were perfect for this project
A simple autumn decoration; preserving the beauty of season and helping to add warmth to the home on these increasingly cooler evenings

That's a lovely decoration for autumn, it would have been a shame to let those beautiful leaves go mushy in the rain.

Not only do I love the finished project of this, I love that there is minimal cost involved. Which makes a perfect I'm-thinking-of-you gift to bless someone's day. I'm beginning a Share the Shelter linky party tomorrow. It's a take of of Samuel Colerige's poem, "Friendship is a Sheltering tree," and involves encouraging those around us. I'd be delighted if you would link this post. You're welcome to link of another of your choice, too.
One of my favorite trees, and a great craft!! Love it. Following you now.
